Curriculum

Our teachers work hard to keep parents informed of what their child is learning and working on in the classroom. A monthly calendar is issued for each specific class. Highlights include the letter/number of the week, projects for the day, show and tell, field trips and parties.

A computer is located in each classroom with time each day for children to learn through specialized educational programs.

There are many centers for the children to choose from, including:

  • Art
  • Home life
  • Puzzles
  • Building
  • Cognitive & manipulative practice
  • Library

Programs

2 Day Explorers | 3 yrs.

The Explorers class is designed for children who are at least 3 years old, completely toilet trained and ready to explore a classroom environment 2 days a week. They meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15am-1:30pm and are made up of 24 students.

Students are introduced to activities including counting, familiarity with the alphabet, identifying their names, fine motor skills like cutting and gluing, circle time and organized play. Field trips begin in early January and include visits to the pet store, grocery store and post office.

3 Day Pre-K | 4 yrs.

The 3 Day class is appropriate for children who are 4 years old. They meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:15am-1:30pm and are made up of 24 students. This program is very popular for those parents whose schedules best allow for 3 days a week of school and for those who are looking to slowly ease their child into Kindergarten the following year.

As part of the early literacy program, students concentrate on writing their first and last names, identifying letters and counting during everyday activities. Each day includes creative activities that emphasize fine and gross motor skills. Field trips begin in September and include trips to the fire station, Kids Choice, public library and kindergarten classroom. The children perform a winter program in January for friends and family, and the school year culminates with a cap and gown graduation held in June.

5 Day Pre-K | 4 yrs.

The 5 Day class is appropriate for children who are 4 years old. They meet Monday through Friday from 9:45am-2:00pm and are made up of 22 students. This program is the best way to fully prepare your child for the Kindergarten schedule as it gives them consistent, daily exposure to learning. By the end of the year, you will find your child geared and ready to jump right in to "big kid" school with confidence!
