Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

This week’s updates for COVID-19

See an overview of the Association’s most up-to-date information on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) page, including previously listed closures and changes to Association activities and policies. Stay informed using Notify Me to sign up for Community Alerts for urgent LRPRA updates. This week, the Association put the following on hold in accordance with Executive Order 55:

  • Recreational Courts & Boat Ramp Closed: Tennis Court entrances (gates) have been locked and full Basketball Court hoops secured, closing them from resident use until further notice. Key requests for Tennis Courts and the Boat Ramp are suspended until the Administration Office re-opens to the public.

Online registration available for Preschool & Summer Camp

Even though the Office is closed to the public, you can still register online! Fill out and email the applicable forms and Recreation will call you to accept payment.

  • Preschool 2020-2021: Classes are filling! Our programs boast state licensure, low teacher-to-student ratios, extra time through lunch and experienced teachers at a price you’ll love. See why we are trusted as a fantastic choice for the community and beyond-- enroll today!
  • Summer Camp 2020: Line up some well-earned summer activities for the kids after a cooped up spring-- register for our friendly neighborhood camp today! Themed weeks with daily swim time and local field trips run June 15 - August 3, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Covenants Department addresses concerns

Please know that the Covenants Department is aware of the impact that COVID-19 concerns may have on Homeowners’ finances and their abilities to address outstanding property violations at this time. Homeowners are strongly encouraged to contact the department by telephone at 703-491-2154 or e-mail to discuss extensions of time and accommodations as needed. Reasonable requests will not be refused.

Trash service reminders

Charlie & Son is working diligently to continue their duties, and the safety of their customers, community and staff are very important. Please read the following updates to their services during this time:

  • No Bags of Dirt: Charlie & Son is requesting residents not fill bags with dirt or soil for pickup. Keep in mind yard waste is limited to 2 bags at this time.
  • Covered Trash Cans: Residents and Homeowners are once more reminded that plastic trash bags are not to be used for placing trash out for weekly pickups. This is a clear violation of LRPRA rules and regulations, and will be strictly enforced by our Covenants Department. Besides being prone to opening by rodents and birds, the bags are unsightly and in many cases unsanitary. Your continued attention to this matter in these difficult times is appreciated.

Pesticide Spraying on Common Area

Pesticide spraying on common area over the next few weeks

Every year Lake Ridge Association hires a contractor to treat our common areas to prevent seasonal weeds and other undesirable grasses. Please be aware of the contractors and avoid the area when they are present. Thank you!

Other helpful COVID-19 information

As this pandemic information changes day-to-day, LRPRA Administration will strive to provide resources and information to help us all through this time. Please keep in mind information we receive may change from the morning to the evening, and you can check these sources directly for updates:

  • Cloth Face Coverings: The CDC is recommending cloth face coverings be worn in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. Cloth face coverings fashioned from households items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary publish health measure. Help slow the spread and with these instructions to make your mask today!
  • Don’t Flush Wipes: The PWC Service Authority is appealing to customers who flush wipes down the toilet to throw them in the garbage instead. Whether you are using wipes for disinfecting surfaces or as a substitute for toilet paper they are not "flush-able" - even if they say so on the label.
  • PWC Police Present "Daily Life with COVID-19": Join PWC Police for an online meeting on Tuesday, April 14, at 12:00pm for a presentation on Daily Life with COVID-19 to hear topics discussed like scams, DMV changes, what to expect when calling for police and fire rescue services and more.
