LRPRA management is monitoring local, state, and national health agencies and considering any guidance provided as it emerges for COVID-19. Any changes to our regularly scheduled activities, business policies and procedures will be updated here.
At the June 24 Special Meeting, the Board of Directors voted to open Ridgewood Pool on July 1 with COVID-19 compliance measures in place. More information to come as guidelines and admittance process is developed.
The LRPRA Board invites the community to review Pool Operations, information on the pros and cons of opening our pools this summer, and to offer feedback at a special Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, June 17. The Board will vote to decide on June 28.
As Prince William County has moved into Phase 1 of reopening, LRPRA has opened up Tennis/Pickleball Courts and the Volleyball Pit, effective today. Playgrounds other than Fantasy and half-court basketball courts are already open. Also open is the Boat Ramp on Forest Hill Road. This will involve social distancing and other safety actions from the CDC. Refer to the LRPRA Reopening Plan for details.
The LRPRA Reopening Plan is a phased reopening of our community that takes federal, state, and county reopening plans into account. This plan contains three phases. The status of LRPRA amenities, events and services will be affected by each phase. The specific timeline of each phase is not known at this time and this plan is subject to change as guidelines and protocols are decided.
Trash Service Update: Charlie & Son has temporarily restricted yard waste bags and cans to a maximum of 2 per pickup until further notice. Please refer to their linked COVID-19 Yard Waste Notice for details.
Recreational Courts Update: Tennis Court entrances (gates) have been locked and full Basketball Court hoops secured, closing them from resident use until further notice.Key requests for the Boat Ramp and Tennis Courts are suspended until the Administration Office re-opens to the public.Neighborhood Tot Lots, Boat Ramp and Volleyball Court are still open. We will continue to monitor activities.
Community Center Update:Usage of Canterbury Woods and Tall Oaks Community Center is now suspended until June 10th in accordance with Governor Northam's stay at home order.
Charlie & Sons Trash Service Updates:Charlie & Son will be suspending bulk pick up until further notice. As Prince William County Landfill has temporarily suspended bulk drop off, we are requesting all residents to hold bulk items within your home. We are asking that all residents be conscious of their trash disposal practices and bulk pickup requests. Charlie & Son Trash Service is working diligently to continue their duties. The safety of their customers, community and staff are very important. All information for trash and recycling protocols can be found on the Trash Service page under Residents.Please note the following as some of those important ways you can follow the trash and recycling pickup rules:• All garbage bags MUST be placed in a container with a lid. No bags should be left out on the ground.• A 35 lb. weight limit should not be exceeded within any bags or containers.• Restrict deliveries to household refuse only, and minimize deliveries of brush, yard debris and bulky waste.All information for Prince William County Landfill procedures can be found on the Prince William County Government website.
Recreation Updates:Spring Yard Sale - Cancelled for May 2, future date TBD. Taste of Lake Ridge - Cancelled for May 7, future date TBD. Youth Sports - Postponed to fall. Details emailed to participants.
Updated Cancellations/Closures:Lake Ridge Creative Preschool - Closed for the rest of the school year along with all Virginia schools in accordance with yesterday's government announcement.Community Centers - Cancelled/closed through April 30th.Association Meetings - Architectural Meeting cancelled for April 7th.
Fantasy Playground Update: As a high traffic area with the potential for the spread of germs, the Association has blocked off Fantasy Playground and closed it to the public at this time.Continue to refer to LRPRA Health Precautions for other cancellations and closures.
Other Cancellations/Closures: In accordance with the CDC’s recommendation to limit gatherings to 50 people or less, LRPRA is cancelling the following upcoming events and facility usage and encouraging social distancing:- Eggstravaganza: Cancelled for April 4.- Association Meetings: Cancelled for March.- Community Centers: Cancelled/closed until April 12.- Dog Park (managed by PWC): Closed until March 31.We wish everyone good health during this time and look forward to seeing our community come together again soon.
Administration Office Update:LRPRA Administration Office is closed to the public until further notice.Please utilize our drop box to make payments, with account number (find on Assessment Roster) and property address and phone number included. Lake Ridge Creative Preschool Update: Virginia Governor Ralph Northam made the announcement Friday afternoon that all Virginia schools will close for two weeks beginning Monday, March 16 - Friday, March 27 due to the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19. Lake Ridge Creative Preschool will be following this directive. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but our first and foremost concern is the health and safety of the students and staff. We will continue to monitor the situation and update as soon as possible with any further information and/or closures.
