Looking for chefs to teach virtual cooking classes
Do you have a great Fall/Thanksgiving recipe that you would love to share? LRPRA is on the hunt for an enthusiastic individual to teach a class virtually hosted at our Tall Oaks Community Center on November 4th. We are looking for a dish with a 20-35 minute prep time. Amateur chefs are welcomed! Apply until October 9th. A zoom interview will be conducted with select individuals and compensation will be discussed at that time.

Board of Directors call for candidates
Applications for the LRPRA Board of Directors election for 2021 will be available in early October. In order to be eligible, all applicants must complete the application and be in good standing with LRPRA. This includes no delinquencies or covenants violations. The Board of Directors is composed of nine volunteers who are elected to serve a three-year term. Fantasy Playground annual maintenance
Fantasy Playground is undergoing fall restoration and is closed through - October 2nd. Please visit one of our many Tot Lots located throughout the community during this time.
Sentara sponsors drive-thru flu shots
As part of Sentara’s commitment to keeping our communities safe, on Saturday, October 17, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center will host a free drive-thru flu shot event while supplies last. This first come, first served event is at Christ Chapel, 13909 Smoketown Road, Woodbridge, VA 22191. This event is for adults 18 years of age and older. News Release
Local Boy Scouts continue quest to retire flags with dignity
On September 11th, an estimated 4,500 to 5,000 United States flags, collected by a Boy Scouts program at the Prince William County Landfill and Balls Ford Compost Facility were retired in a dignified manner. Media Release
