LRPRA Celebrates 50 Years of Establishment

In 1969, Ridge Development Corporation, along with the late Kenneth Thompson, developed what was once a remote cluster of homes into today’s planned community of Lake Ridge. In February of 1972, with its Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions recorded in Prince William County, Virginia, the Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Association was established.

The community is set on 4,700 acres of common ground with 1,200 acres maintained by the Association, consisting of 7,278 property units that include single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, 2 apartment complexes and commercial properties. In addition, the Association offers a variety of amenities to include 5 pools and a spray ground, a boat ramp, community centers for rent exclusively for LRPRA Members only , sports fields, playgrounds, fitness stations and other outdoor recreational courts  including tennis, pickleball, basketball, multi-use and volleyball. 

Ken Thompson’s vision of Lake Ridge extended beyond building homes into building a community. Thousands of children have grown up on the local soccer fields and the community schools with many of these children coming back to Lake Ridge years later to raise their own families. And it is this mix of people from young families starting out to older individuals retiring in place that makes Lake Ridge a diverse and interesting place that so many people enjoy calling home. *Some information is excerpted from an August 2007 Lake Ridge Today interview with Ken Thompson.

We appreciate the votes that have been cast in the 2022 LRPRA Board Election! If you have an email registered with the Finance Department, you received an email from Elections@vote-now.com with the title of "LRPRA Ballot". Use this to vote today! (NOTE: If you have a registered email and have not received the LRPRA Ballot please check your spam folder) Ballots were NOT mailed. Online voting closes February 8 at 12:00pm.

Pre-K Early Enrollment for Members: Through the month of February, Association Members and Current Students have EARLY ACCESS to secure a spot in the 2022-2023 school year! Don't delay-- spaces are filling! If you are looking for a program with a great reputation and the perfect balance of play and learning for your child to enter Kindergarten with confidence, Lake Ridge Creative Preschool is for you! Sports Sign-Up Ends February 28: Our spring Soccer, T-Ball & Coach Pitch leagues are instructional and fun-focused-- a great low pressure activity to give kids some structure and regular exercise! As of February 1, all registrants (Members and Non-Members) pay $90 per child. Complete the registration form to sign up and find more information about the program on the Youth Leagues page of our website.

Teen Job Fair: Stay tuned for details on our Teen Job Fair at Tall Oaks Community Center on March 12 from 10:00am-12:00pm! Local businesses will be looking for candidates, including Premier Aquatics lifeguards, Lake Ridge Association (us!) summer camp counselors and swim instructors, Dale City Boys and Girls Club, and more to come. Upcoming March 1 Assessment Payment

The next quarterly assessment payment is due March 1. We offer the following suggestions for paying your assessment:

• Pay your assessment early! Your payment will be processed and credited to your account. Advance payments are always welcome. 
• Make your payment electronically through PayLease or your bank. PayLease can be accessed on our website via the Pay Online button. E-check payments are free. Debit or credit card payments include a surcharge by PayLease. You can also make a debit/credit card payment by telephone by calling our office at 703-491-2154. A receptionist will take your payment information and process the payment with the included surcharge by PayLease.
• Drop off a check or money order (no cash) in our drop box. This is located to the right of the Office doors and is emptied daily.
