Welcome Chief Operating Officer/General Manager 

Ms. Bernie M. Guthrie to LRPRA

Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Association (LRPRA) Board of Directors and management team are pleased to welcome Bernie M. Guthrie as our Chief Operating Officer and General Manager (COO/GM). Her first day will be Monday, July 18, 2022. She is replacing our current COO/GM Ike Mutlu who is retiring after four years at LRPRA on July 31, 2022. 

The board completed a professional and extensive interview process to find our next executive leader. This included hiring Jeff Evans with Management Matters to assist the board in the search process, doing multiple rounds of interviews, and actively searching the country for quality candidates. 

Ms. Guthrie is a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics, George Mason University with a B.A. in Psychology, and George Mason University with a M.B.A. Furthermore, she has industry credentials that include the CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations), AMS (Association Management Specialist) and PCAM (Professional Community Association Manager).

Ms. Guthrie previously worked as a Large-Scale Community Association Manager at Belmont Bay Homeowners Association, HOA Division Director with Community Management Corporation, Regional Director at First Service Residential, and most recently as Director of Association Management at National Realty Partners. 

Ms. Guthrie is a member of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI), Virginia Legislative Action Committee, and a contributor to Quorum Magazine.

In her free time Ms. Guthrie enjoys cooking new recipes, gardening in her back yard and reading biographies.
