Monthly Survey: Election Survey
Are you aware check fraud and financial crimes have been on the rise since the Covid-19 Pandemic? According to the Associated Press, “Banks issued roughly 680,000 reports of check fraud to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, also known as FinCEN, last year. That’s up from 350,000 reports in 2021.” In June of this year, a Fairfax County mail carrier was assaulted and robbed. Bad actors are targeting mail carriers and businesses with high check volume to perpetuate check fraud schemes. To better protect our homeowners and staff LRPRA is planning to move away from accepting in office payments. Homeowners will still have the option to mail their payments to the address indicated on their quarterly statement, but we strongly recommend using the Owner Portal to make your payment safely and securely. Keep an eye out for more information in the future.
